The International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) represents the interest of the Drilling industry globally. Founded in 1940, IADC’s mission is to improve industry health, safety and environmental practices; advance drilling and completion technology; and champion responsible standards, practices, legislation and regulations that provide for safe, efficient and environmentally sound drilling operations worldwide.
With customers like Transocean, Seadrill, Maersk, Vantage and KCA Deutag, the drilling industry represents a large proportion of our business. Dropped objects coming down from the Derrick to the drill floor have always been one of the major safety concerns on offshore and on shore drilling rigs. But most importantly, the industry is showing significant willingness and efforts to eliminate such incidents. Stopdrop tools for working at height (tethered tools, tools aloft) are helping drilling contractors around the world to eliminate the estimated 10 to 20% of dropped objects caused by hand tools.
Our tools being a safety product, Stopdrop Tooling frequently exhibits at IADC health and safety conferences. The below photo was taken at the 2010 IADC HSE conference in Amsterdam. Dave White, Managing Director of Stopdrop Tooling handed over the Stopdrop Tools kit for the West Sirius to Tor-Inge Gran, Director of QHSE – Seadrill. |
