A 3-Step guide to choosing the correct lanyards for your tools when ‘Working At Height’.

13 Mar 2014
  1. Ensure the weight of the tool does not exceed the maximum weight guidelines for the lanyard.
  2. Determine the length of the lanyard you will need:
    • 1M wire lanyards should be used when there is a high risk of the lanyard being cut or damaged.
    • 1.5M wire lanyards are used for securing heavier tools to fixed objects.
  3. Always use locking screw gate carabineers on lanyards when securing them to the attachment point on your tool. Non-locking carabineers can open when at height therefore tools can become dropped objects.

*LANYARDS MUST BE SECURED PRIOR TO WORKING AT HEIGHT*
